The Bonefish Bay Club of South Andros - Bahamas

The Bonefish Bay Club of South Andros is located 15 minutes from the South Andros Airport in the southern section of the island and is a short distance from some of the finest bonefishing on the planet earth. Literally hundreds of square miles of bone-white flats offer our guests unlimited opportunities to challenge some of the largest and most cooperative bonefish anywhere.

Each day, our guests select to fish nearby creeks or the vast ocean flats of the East, South and West Coasts. Breakfast is early, dinner is late, and in-between is some of the best fishing imaginable.

The lodge has 9 clean and comfortable, air-conditioned rooms, each recently refurnished and all with full bath with showers. Situated in a very quiet area and right on the ocean, a short and refreshing swim from our wonderful beach can follow a successful day on the flats, or the deep blue water of the open ocean. Daily housekeeping is provided and laundry service is available as well.

Our Bonefish Bay Club is blessed with the most experienced guides on the island. This team of 9 professionals represent, collectively, over 90 years of experience fishing and guiding on the creeks and ocean flats of South Andros. They know the tides, the winds, and the temperatures affecting our underwater world and you will be comforted to know that the individual on the back of your skiff pointing to two, 10 pound bones 200 feet away takes his job very seriously. Your daily options are plentiful, varied, and wonderful. They could include the following:

    The South Bight

Regarded as one of the more scenic areas on the island, the South Bight has deeper channels and, as it is closer to the ocean, is home to some of the larger fish in the area as well. Bonefish are fewer in numbers here, but, with its combination of bone-white flats, turquoise and emerald waters, fishing “The Bight” is a most memorable experience.

    Deep Creek

Just moments from the lodge, Deep Creek quickly opens to a 6-mile wide bay dotted with dozens of small islands, or “cays”. This area is the perfect spot for those wishing a longer day on the flats and, as it’s more protected an area, is the place to be if wind is a factor as air is, generally, nearly motionless on the leeward sides of many of these cays.

    Little Creek

Again, just 5 minutes from the lodge, Little Creek is not only a most productive fishery with limitless wading opportunities, but also connects our guests to the infinite flats of the West Coast. For those seeking more fishing time and the option for a run to the west, Little Creek is the perfect option.

    The South & West Coast

For anglers wishing to cast to a school of bonefish an acre in size, a visit to the South and West Coast of South Andros is a must. In and around Water Cays, Curly Cut, and Grassy Creek it is not uncommon to see hundreds of bonefish in one dark mass swim closely by as this region is regarded as the place to be if sheer numbers of fish is the goal of the day. The ocean flats of this area stretch from horizon to horizon and fishing pressure is almost non-existent. Although requiring a 45 minute boat ride, a visit to this area should be included in your week as wading adjacent to a “Bone-Ball” is an experience one will always remember.
