    THE LODGE

Enchanted Lake Lodge was established in 1961 as one of Alaska's first fly-out fishing lodges. Throughout its history, the Lodge has continually been rated as one of the world's premier fly fishing destinations, and today continues its strong tradition of excellence. We are ideally located just inside the northern boundary of Katmai National Park on 54 acres of privately owned land. The Lodge rests on a hill overlooking Nonvianuk Lake in the shadow of the Walatka Mountains, surrounded by the legendary streams and rivers of the Alaska Peninsula.

Once inside the cedar main lodge, pour yourself a drink from our complimentary bar, well-stocked with fine wines, beer, and liquor; tease your appetite with delicious appetizers; warm up by a crackling fire; settle back in comfortable, over-stuffed furniture and relax in the great room accented with Alaskan big game animal furs, mounted fish, and Alaska artwork; or lounge on one of the decks offering a breath-taking view of truly natural beauty.

In the evening, enjoy an unforgettable dinner from the window-lined dining room providing a panoramic view of pristine wilderness. Look out on the spectacular surrounding lakes, the snow-capped mountains of the Alaska Range, and the untouched tundra alive with wildlife.

And finally, our cedar guest cabins, each with its own private bath, provide the comfort you desire at the end of a long, satisfying day of angling.

In order to provide you with the highest degree of personal service and attention, we limit the number of guests to just 12 per week. This allows our experienced, professional staff to cater to your unique plans and preferences. Your comfort, outdoor pleasure and safety are out highest priorities.

    The Fishing Schedule

It’s has been said that we pamper our guests too much, but that's the part we enjoy the most. We will awaken you each morning with a fresh pot of steaming coffee at your doorstep. Once at the lodge, expect to be enticed by the aroma of breakfast and fresh home-made pastries. After breakfast, you will have one half-hour to get yourself geared up and ready for the days fishing trip. Your guide will meet you at the airplane on our private dock making sure you have everything you need for the day.

Once aboard one of our immaculately maintained aircraft (we operate two deHavilland Beavers and one Cessna 206), you will be flown to one of the many streams we fish in the area. Normally the flight is short, 15-20 minutes, since we are ideally located in the heart of the best rainbow trout fishing in the world. Once at the stream, you and your guide will spend the day working your way through the different runs available to us. Delicious lunches are served while overlooking a favorite run or the native wildlife. A usual day consists of eight to nine hours of fishing.

Upon your return each evening, you are met at the dock with a cheerful smile and a complimentary brandy. After an incredible day of fishing, a few minutes in our unique Alaskan sauna will ready you for an hour of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before dinner, at which time you can discuss the next day's fishing destination with your guide. All of our guides have a wealth of fly fishing experience in our region and have worked in Alaska numerous years before coming to Enchanted Lake Lodge. Simply put, when it comes to our guides only the best will do.

Dinners with a gourmet flare are artistically prepared by our chef and served with the finest wine and beer. Afterwards, you can sit on our deck and watch a magnificent sunset or relax back in your cabin in anticipation of another fantastic day of fishing.

    KATMAI

At 4.2 million acres, Katmai National Park is the second largest park in the United States. Katmai is a land that time has forgotten. On a clear day, the Valley of 10,000 Smokes is a sight to behold with its lava covered floor and steaming volcanoes. Glistening turquoise glaciers, long cascading waterfalls and a multitude of natural wonders are found in this vast wonderland of nature. Enchanted Lake Lodge, located in Katmai National Park, is at the center of this natural splendor and yours to enjoy.
