Welcome To Art Teter's Guide Service!

As an experienced guide in the northern California area I have spent years searching out the best places to fish. The places I've found and the knowledge I've gathered will help make your trip an experience that you will want to tell your friends about, an experience you will never forget.

The Fishing:

Located between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta are some of the finest trout waters Northern California has to offer, with something to challenge anglers of every skill level. We offer guided fly fishing on a variety of waters to meet the needs of beginning and advanced anglers alike Find out what adventure lies around the corner for you.

  • Hat Creek / Fall River

Type of water: Spring Creeks. Good dry fly opportunity. Good early and late season hatches, which usually occur May through October. Fall River has good Hex fishing early to mid summer. Wading Hat Creek is easy to moderate. Fall River is usually fished only from a boat.

  • Pit River / McCloud

Type of water: freestone. Good to excellent nymphing with good to very good dry fly at times. Skill level needed to fish: beginners ok. Wading: Difficult. This is not a boating trip and involves lots of hiking through spectacular canyons.

  • Upper Sacramento River

Type of water: freestone. Good nymphing and dry fly. Early in the season, the water can be high due to run off. In late summer expect the water to be a little low with good evening fishing. This is a wading water only.

  • Lower Sacramento River

Type of water: tailwater. This is a BIG Tail water that is open year around. It is fished mainly out of a drift boat, and when flows allow, we can even wade some parts. The river has good Caddis activity starting in March and running through the summer. Winter brings some excellent Blue Wing Olive hatches. This is a great year around fishery.
