Guided Trips:

From Mark —

With over twenty years of experience as a full time guide, I’m very proud to have taught hundreds of clients. I’m always looking for new ones, however, as my people learn how to really fish — so well that they’re able to go and succeed on their own. That is the point of what I do.

With me, you’ll learn the proper skills you will need to cast, mend, and strip successfully. I’ve had many clients that travel and fish all over the world say, “Thanks, I’ve learned more in one day with you than I could have imagined.” You’ll also learn to read the water to understand where the fish like to be and what their habits are. I love to teach! So, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler you’ll learn the best techniques and/or develop the skills you already have to become your very best. Choose a walk-in trip, a float down a beautiful river, or a trip out on the Delta. I can customize a trip to suit your skills and physical limitations.

I’m thrilled too when my clients call me up and say, “Man, I was out on the river today and no one was catching fish except me!” So give me a call and let’s go fishing.

Come with me and catch the fish of your life!

Family Fly Fishing Clinics:

Try a Group Clinic for your child’s team or family outing for a birthday party fly fishing on a gorgeous private pond in Sutter Creek. Children and their parents learn the basics of fly fishing with the emphasis on having fun. This is the perfect way to be introduced to the fantastic and life-long sport of fly fishing. Includes private pond access, equipment, and a great BBQ lunch!

MARK PINTO was born and raised in Manteca (to non-fishing parents). Mark has been fascinated with fish and fishing ever since he can remember. With mentoring from friends and neighbors, he began a pursuit that has lasted his entire life. Of all the forms of fishing, fly fishing intrigued him the most. Mark began tying flies at the tender age of ten, using materials from around the house and holding the hook in his fingers. Seeing his enthusiasm, his parents purchased a beginning fly tying kit along with his first fly rod and reel. Mark received his only instruction with the help of a family friend that taught a unit of fly tying for 4-H. Mark, along with the instructor’s son and two other boys learned to tie one fly. That fly was the Mill Creek Queen, a pattern developed and named for a beautiful and secluded stream on the slopes of Mt. Lassen in Northern California. Later, the instructor took Mark there and just turned him loose. After catching eight fish on the fly that he tied himself, Mark was HOOKED!

Mark has been featured in Sunset Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, California Flyfisher Magazinie, Bay Area Television News, along with the local Stockton Record.
