Why rent a spot in the bunk-house when you can have the whole ranch! Whitetail deer, moose, a resident family of bobcats, pheasants, partridge and other wild life abound on the property. The property has a Two (2) acre pond with recirculating stream. Pond is stocked with rainbows & browns – they were yearlings in 2006. The Big Hat Ranch is a great vacation place for family vacations or for serious fly fishermen who want to do their own thing.
There are beautiful views of snow capped Tobacco Rt Mt. from the property. The ranch has 1/4 mile of Willow Creek frontage and the wooded bottom land with feeders and observation tent for wildlife viewing/photography is a short walk from the house. Big Hat Ranch is available for lease during hunting season but no discharging of firearms on the property is allowed as we are fostering a wildlife preserve. Mowed trails provide walks to observe the animals and birds.
Accomodations:
Main house is approximately 2400 sq ft and the log cabin is about 800 sq ft including front and back porches. The house was new in 2000 and it was totally upgraded in 2005. The main house has a great room open to a well equipped kitchen and 180 degree panoramic views of the surroundings. Deer frequently bed down in the yard. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The ranch recently added a window seat/bed in each room along with queen sized extra long bed topped by a single top bunk.
The ranch added the new log cabin last summer. A new well and septic system were added at that time – water and plumbing are top notch. The cabin has a small but well equipped kitchen, bath, and two single beds in the loft. The sofa converts to a sleeper and even has a pillow top mattress. The back porch faces the pond and the front overlooks the Tobacco Rt Mountains.
Location of Ranch:
Ranch is located just 3 miles form Historic town of Pony, Mt. Potosi Hot springs is 8 miles away, Yellowstone Park 80 miles, Willow Creek Reservoir 4 miles and Ennis is just 30 miles from the ranch. The Big four Montana trout streams (Madison, Jefferson, Galatin, etc.)are just ½ hours drive. Our valley is full of mule deer, whitetails, antelope, and a few moose.
Rates:
Our Big Hat Ranch home rents for $2500 per week. The smaller guest cabin rents for just $1000 per week. Only one group can be on the property at one time.
