Hawaii Inshore Fishing (HIF) is located on Oahu and operates an ocean fishing guide service for local and traveling fishermen.

Hawaii has proven it is a World Class offshore fishing destination for giant Marlin & Tuna as well as other pelagic species like Ono (Wahoo), and Mahi Mahi (Dorado or Dolphinfish). What many fisherman are not aware of are the extraordinary inshore fishing opportunities for trophy bonefish (o’io), trevally (papio and ulua), barracuda, and many other hard fighting game fish (see the photo gallery).

Our professional and experienced guides offer you a variety of inshore fishing opportunities for experienced & novice fishermen and fisher-women of all ages. HIF guides are happy to teach you the techniques we continue to learn to land trophy fish in Hawaii.

Our Guides:

Oliver Owens has been pioneering Hawaii flats with his flies and techniques for over 15 years. His experience and keen eyes never let a bonefish slip by undetected. Oliver is one of the premiere Hawaii guides and fishing with him is how to add a nice bonefish catch to your collection.

Jeff Peck has been fishing, boating and surfing Oahu since he moved here in 1988. Jeff has extensive knowledge of the productive reef flats, channels and sand washes perfect for catching trevally and bonefish. Jeff serves as HIF's Licensed Captain and has been fishing inshore and offshore for over 28 years.

Kalei Bourgoise grew up on the Windward side of Oahu and has been fishing with his Dad since a toddler. Kalei's fish sighting and knowledge of the various Hawaii gamefish feeding patterns is unmatched. He has been diving, fishing and surfing the reefs of all the Hawaiian islands for 38 years. When the fish are there, Kalei will find them!!

Fly Fishing

Hawaii Inshore Fishing’s affiliation with Shoreline Adventures (bonefish808.com or 808-428- 4680) owner, operator and guide Oliver Owens gives you one of the best opportunities to present a fly to a trophy bonefish. He specializes in fly fishing and fly tying, and has many original patterns available. Oliver continues to be a pioneer in Hawaii flats fishing. With over 15 years in the Hawaiian waters on Oahu, Molokai and Kauai, Oliver knows where to find fish and how to sight them. His keen eyes and extensive knowledge of the local flats and terrain will put you on the fish. He also offers fly casting classes and custom outer island trips to Molokai and Kauai, to some of the most untouched waters available to any adventurous fisherman. Fishing gear and tackle is provided at no extra cost.

Rate: $300 for 4-5 hours fishing time

Spin fishing & Fly fishing Combo

Maximize your chances at getting a prize catch by having the option of spinning tackle or fly gear available while you stalk your quarry. With the ever-changing Hawaii weather and tide conditions, being able to be versatile can make the difference in catching fish. Your guide will have both styles of gear rigged and ready for the stalk. With this option, you can challenge yourself to catch fish in whatever the day throws at you. Gear is provided.

Rate: $325 for 4-5 hours fishing time. Up to 2 people.

Boat Trips

Inshore Flats fishing

Relax and enjoy fishing from the deck of 12' Carolina Skiff. Access flats and sandbars that are not reachable by wading from shore. This style of fishing is great for fly casting and spin fishing for both the trevally and bonefish. FIshing Tackle included.

Rate: $350 for 4-5 hours fishing time up to 2 people.

Offshore Fishing

Hawaii is famous for its offshore fishing. When weather conditions are right , you can be in Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Ono and Tuna grounds in about 30-60 minutes!! These weather dependent trips are aboard a 2003 18 ft. Grady White Sportfisher. Troll and bait fish for trophy game fish while we do all the work, that is until HOOKUP!!!-when you go to work. Fishing Tackle included.

Rate: $250 for 4-6 hours fishing up to 3 people.
